My name “Irene” is so rare in this day and age that when I was born, every elderly lady living near my parents named ‘Irene’ assumed I was named after them. (When in fact I was really named after my dad’s sister)
I was the kid who could never buy personalized souvenirs.
All that said, this past summer while visiting the lovely town of Hershey Pennsylvania, we were wandering through a museum and I came across this display. It made me happy to see something with my name on it (also helps I love antiques and fashion) So I had to grab a picture! I came upon the photo this week, while reminiscing about our trip.
I wish that Irene’s Shoppe was still around. I would’ve loved a hat (and a hat box) from them!
There was a girl called Irene in my class at school so I’ve never thought it that unusual. I’m glad you found ‘your’ shoppe!
