I have been mulling this over for over a year now, trying to figure out ways to engage and connect more with fellow bloggers and writers as well as keep my writing habits in check. I have joined a few online writing groups and I am slowly coming out of my shell. I have wanted to take steps at creating my own little writing group- however, I just do not have it in me to take on such a task – but I still feel like I want something where I can help host and connect and inspire.
It finally dawned on me the other day that something I could do was create my own ‘Writing Prompt’ feature- not just for me but for other writers and creative types to connect. I know that there are plenty prompts out there- but I feel like throwing my hat into the ring and just experimenting with the idea.
If it works- It works.
If it doesn’t- Well at least I tried!
These prompts will last for the month of October and depending on how well it is received I may extend it further…time will tell.
SO with that- I introduce:
The rules are simple:
Every Wednesday- I will post a word, sentence, theme or a picture as a ‘Creative’ prompt.
Write a poem, a short story, a blog post, paint or draw something…. that is inspired by the weekly prompt.
Use the ‘Pingback’ feature to link your blog post to the particular prompt you use. (So today- pingback to this post)
On Twitter and Instagram:
Follow and Use the hashtag #PumpkinsPrompts to share your work and see what everyone else came up with. Make sure to read and support everyone’s creative work. I will do my best to scroll through and depending on the number of participants- I may feature as many posts as I can in the blog for the next prompt….
Let me know you are participating so I can keep my eye out for your posts! 🙂
(Keep in mind I am going to adjust this project as I go- so bare with me as I learn to perfect the whole thing)
You will find the Prompts Posted here on my blog, my Twitter account (@oncepumpkin1) and on my Instagram (@oncepumpkin)
